Charlie Price has spent the last twenty years perfecting his craft of hairdressing. His love of high fashion led him to Milan and New York where he studied under runway masters. Price was nominated as International Hairstylist of the Year five times by the Canadian Mirror Awards (2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008) and was named: International Stylist of the Year in 2007. He has been nominated for sixteen NAHA awards including Master Stylist of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Price was twice named North American Hairstylist of the Year in 2002 and 2008; he is the only American who has received this honour more than once. Price’s photo work has been published in trade and consumer magazines worldwide. Most recently he received the 2011 NAHA Peoples’ Choice Hairstylist of the Year Award. He made a memorable appearance as runner-up on Bravo’s hit television series Shear Genius 2, which aired in over 22 countries. Price is now editorial director at Antoine du Chez The Spa at Cherry Creek in Denver, Colorado.

Scruples’ hair design has always been about graphic shapes enhanced by beautiful colour. Ever since the WHITE TEA Luxury Collection launched, I have wanted to create a collection for the line. I love the concept of fresh, intellectual glamour, so the notion of a product line and images inspired by rare, exotic plants was an exciting prospect for me. These photos represent classic styles with high shine and an ultra polished aesthetic. They are nostalgic, modern and timeless all at once. I always try to inject my work with one edgy element. Here that manifests in an idea of the ultra pure informed by the current fascination with health, beauty and fitness – or what I call hyper perfection.
